Why Black Stone?
In Hindu tradition, the Shyamal (dark) colour of Krishnashila represents the infinite cosmos — formless yet all‑pervading. Lord Vishnu, in his reclining form, rests upon this very stone in the Gandaki River. When Ram Lalla is carved from it, the idol is not merely a representation — it becomes a svayambhu (self‑manifested) divine presence.

|| Historical Background ||
Ayodhya — The Sacred City of Lord Ram
Ayodhya, one of the seven most sacred cities (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism, has been revered for millennia as the birthplace of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram. Nestled on the banks of the holy Saryu river in Uttar Pradesh, this ancient city finds mention in the Atharvaveda, where it is described as “a city built by gods — as prosperous as paradise itself.”
The Ram Janmabhoomi site — believed to be the exact spot where Lord Rama incarnated — has been a beacon of Hindu devotion through centuries of change. Pilgrims from across the world have journeyed here, drawn by an unshakeable faith that transcended political upheavals and the passage of time.
“अयोध्या मथुरा माया काशी काञ्ची अवन्तिका।
पुरी द्वारावती चैव सप्तैते मोक्षदायिकाः॥”
— Garuda Purana (listing the seven cities that grant moksha)
|| Journey Through Time ||
The Sacred Timeline
From the birth of Lord Rama to the historic Pran Pratishtha — milestones that shaped the destiny of Ayodhya.
According to ancient scriptures and the Valmiki Ramayana, Lord Rama — the seventh avatar of Vishnu — was born in Ayodhya to King Dasharatha & Queen Kausalya. The city became the eternal seat of Maryada Purushottam.
A mosque was constructed at the site believed to be Ram Janmabhoomi. Over centuries, the location remained spiritually significant for Hindus, leading to legal disputes and continued worship.
The site reopened for Hindu worship in 1986, reigniting the Ram Mandir movement. In 2019, the Supreme Court of India delivered the historic verdict allowing construction of the Ram Mandir.
The grand temple construction officially began in 2020 with Bhoomi Pujan. On January 22, 2024, the divine Ram Lalla idol was consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Ram Mandir, Ayodhya.

Sacred Milestone
Pran Pratishtha The Divine Consecration
On January 22, 2024, the world witnessed one of the most momentous spiritual events of the 21st century — the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram Lalla in the newly built Shri Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
The 51‑inch idol, sculpted by master artist Arun Yogiraj from a single block of sacred Shyamal Shila (Krishnashila stone), depicts Lord Rama as a five‑year‑old child — divine, serene, and eternal. Over 7,000 invited guests, saints, and dignitaries witnessed the ceremony, while an estimated 100 crore people watched the live broadcast worldwide.
- Vedic rituals spanning 3 days by 121 Acharyas
- 5 lakh+ diyas lit across Ayodhya on Ram Ki Paidi
- Surya Tilak — sunlight channeled to anoint the idol's forehead
- Idol weighing ~200 kg, 51 inches in height
Placement & Vastu Guide
Where you place the divine, the divine blesses. Follow these time‑honoured traditions for the perfect setup.
Best Direction
Place Ram Lalla murti facing East or West for spiritually balanced energy and peaceful daily worship.
Ideal Height
Murti should be positioned above waist level and never directly on the floor.
Pooja Room Placement
Install the murti in a clean, calm, clutter-free pooja room with proper ventilation and light.
Living Room Placement
Position respectfully on a dedicated elevated shelf facing inward toward the home.
Morning Light
Natural morning sunlight enhances spiritual ambience and creates a divine devotional atmosphere.
What To Avoid
Avoid placing murti near washrooms, directly on floors, under staircases, or beside footwear areas.
Create a Peaceful Atmosphere
Pair your Ram Lalla murti with brass diyas, sandalwood incense, fresh marigold garlands, and a small bell. Play soft bhajans or Ram Dhun during aarti. Let the energy of the space transform your daily routine into a ritual of devotion.
